More Than a Father
To gauge writing level, Mrs. Torrey asked her student to write a paper describing her father. The student then completed the revision (AFTER), showing significant improvement.

An eighth grader described the accidental discovery of a frozen human carcass 5,200 years old and included an artistic rendition.

American Astronauts
This same eighth grader summarized the challenges that the inaugural female astronauts faced. Her drawing symbolized the ascendancy of women in American life.
